Advita Ortho Expands Navigation Platform with Next-Generation GPS Shoulder System

Advita Ortho is proud to announce the introduction of its next generation GPS Shoulder system, the latest evolution of the company’s industry-leading navigation technology. Designed to enhance performance and usability, the upgraded system delivers a faster, more intuitive experience for surgical teams.

With a sleek new interface and enhanced performance capabilities, the new GPS system represents a significant advancement within Advita’s Active Intelligence® platform, delivering implant placement accuracy,1-2 reduced complications,3 and improved clinical outcomes.4

Howard Routman, DO, performed the first surgical cases using the upgraded GPS Shoulder system at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Fla.

“These cases were an opportunity to see the latest GPS technology in action, and how its enhancements can raise the bar for efficiency and intraoperative 3D feedback in real time,” said Dr. Routman. “The impact was clear, even before we began to navigate the case. The upgrades allowed us to better meet our goals of enhancing accuracy, reducing variability, and delivering optimal results with faster processing speed resulting in a reduction in surgical time. The GPS platform is moving even closer to becoming the standard of care.”

With more than half of Advita’s shoulder cases using GPS around the globe, the technology has evolved into a trusted platform that supports reproducibility and performance. Now, the GPS Shoulder system is designed to meet the demands of today’s surgical teams, featuring a reimagined home screen that enables faster navigation across applications and a more streamlined start to every case.

Key upgrades include:

  • High-resolution touchscreen for faster, more intuitive interaction
  • Reusable active trackers integrate seamlessly into hospital and ASC workflows, using existing instrumentation sterilization processes to reduce per-case costs.
  • Ultra-fast calibration enabling real-time data capture without disrupting surgical flow
  • Enhanced angular visibility with a 135-degree field of view and real-time auxiliary visual connectivity
  • Postoperative reporting tools to support case review, clinical documentation and data analysis.

“With the release of this upgrade, we’ve taken everything surgeons love about GPS and elevated the experience even further,” said Aurelio Sahagun, Advita Ortho CEO. “This system reflects the trust surgeons place in our GPS technology. By delivering a more seamless and enhanced experience, we’re helping surgeons focus on what matters most: patient care.”

As part of Advita Ortho’s Active Intelligence ecosystem, the GPS system connects seamlessly with preoperative planning software, predictive analytics, and postoperative insights. Together, these tools form a cohesive platform that supports surgeons throughout the entire episode of care.

The next-generation GPS Shoulder system is being introduced through a limited release and is available at no additional cost to current users.
